CALL TO ARTISTS: DAY OF THE DEAD ALTARS VENTURA, CA (July 25, 2007) –  Sea Breeze Art Gallery and Studios is now accepting applications from installation artists to submit Dia De Los Muertos 3-dimensional altar designs and installations.  Event:   Dia de los Muertos Exhibit & Celebration Exhibit Dates:  November 2 – 24, 2007 Celebration Date:  November 2, 2007 5-10pm Location:   Sea Breeze Art Gallery    255 South Laurel Street    Ventura, CA 93001    Between Thompson & Front Street, near to The Wharf. Contact:  Creative Director: Stacie Logue 805.302.9992 Details: Submissions will be juried by the Creative Director of the Sea Breeze Art Gallery’s Dia de los Muertos Celebration.  3-4 artists will be chosen.  Once accepted, the artists will construct & dismantle their own design.  Artists may use assistants.  Artists are encouraged to use recycled materials for their altar installations.  Altar designs must be appropriate to the theme “Dia de los Muertos”.  Artists who want to participate need to submit: • Portfolio of work:  Minimum 3 images. • Sketches for proposed altar. • List of materials to be used. • Artist Resume. Requirements: • Altars must be theme appropriate to “Dia de los Muertos”. • No Halloween images will be chosen. • Size: Area provided for altars will be 12’ wide, 4’ deep & approximately 6’ high. • The installation area is outside & will be displayed for 2 days with 1.5 days to construct and 1 day to dismantle. • Artists are encouraged to use recycled materials.  • Artist is required to remove all materials on the dismantle day. • All designs must be approved by the Creative Director.  ### About Sea Breeze Art Gallery:  Located in the burgeoning creative neighborhood of Front and Laurel Streets in downtown Ventura, Sea Breeze hosts several on-site art studios and a beautiful exhibit space.
