CALL TO ARTISTS: DIA DE LOS MUERTOS ARTWORK
VENTURA, CA (August 31, 2007) Sea Breeze Art Gallery and Studios invites artists to participate in our Third Annual Dia de los Muertos Exhibit.
Submission Deadline: Saturday October 27, 2007; 11:00 am 3:00pm
Exhibit Dates: November 2 24, 2007
Details:
Submissions will be juried by the Arturo Rivas, a local artist known for his metal sculpture. Artists can submit up to 3 pieces of art. There is a non-refundable entry fee of $10 per piece. Drop off will be Saturday October 27 from 11 am 3pm. Paperwork must be filled out before drop off. Application forms can be picked up at 255 S. Laurel, Ventura. Sea Breeze Art Gallery is also looking for installation artists to participate in an exterior exhibit of ofrendas (altars). Contact Stacie Logue at stacie_logue@yahoo.comfor details. Sea Breeze Art Gallery will be participating in the Harvest Art Walk November 3.
Requirements:
Artwork must be theme appropriate to Dia de los Muertos.
No Halloween images will be chosen.
Size: Area no restrictions
2 & 3 dimensional artwork accepted
Artists with sculptures will need to provide pedestals for their work if accepted.
All artwork must be ready to hang & gallery ready
Artists are encouraged to use recycled materials.
