“MOTHER AND CHILD: INTIMATE BY NATURE” — NEW WORKS BY LINDA JORDAN AT SEA BREEZE ART GALLERY
Local photographer explores connection between mother and child
VENTURA, CA (September 7, 2007) – New works by local photographer LINDA JORDAN will be on exhibit at the Sea Breeze Art Gallery from September 22 through October 31, 2007.
Jordan’s current work conveys a special connection to and between a mother and her unborn child. Jordan notes, “Being pregnant is the time in a woman’s life that I see as the essence of femininity. It is when we are the most sensual, the most spiritual and the most aware of life itself. Pregnant women deserve to be honored so much more than our society allows.”
There will be an opening reception for the artist on Saturday, September 22 from 6 pm to 10 pm. at Sea Breeze Art Gallery, 255 S. Laurel Street, Ventura. Music and refreshments will be provided. The reception is free and open to the public.
About LINDA JORDAN: Local photographer Linda Jordan uses her artwork as a creative outlet and balance to her work as a therapist and counselor. Her current series honors the time of pregnancy. Jordan hopes for a greater understanding and appreciation of what it means to be a woman, capable of bringing new life to this world, and nurturing that life until her own life ends.
